My love of bacon is no secret. My love of bourbon is also fairly well known among those who have ever enjoyed a cocktail with me. So when I got my hands on a copy of Southern Living Bourbon & Bacon: The Ultimate Guide to the South’s Favorite Foods, you’d think I would have immediately set aside an entire evening to read it cover to cover, right?
Wrong.
I don’t know what happened to the last year, but clearly my priorities have been out of whack because this book by Morgan Murphy has been sitting in my “to do” pile for way too long. I finally cracked it open during a recent camping trip and Oh. My. God. ‘Bourbon & Bacon’ is such a great read! Practical advice, fun stories, and enough recipes to both entertain guests and satisfy your personal bourbon and bacon needs for a very long time.
‘Bourbon & Bacon’ has officially been promoted from my “stuff I’ll get to eventually” pile to a prominent location in my kitchen. It is a culinary bible I will reference regularly.
