Bacon wrapped dates with spicy Italian sausage and gorgonzola crema at Giada Vegas. Great combo of spicy, smoky, and sweet flavors.
The Slater’s 50/50 burger special for July is the 100% Bacon ‘merica Burger: ground bacon patty, sunny-side-up egg, thick cut bacon, bacon island dressing, and bacon cheddar cheese on a bacon pretzel bun made using rendered bacon fat and real pieces of bacon in the dough. Road trip to California, anyone?

Bacon jam has gone mainstream! A few years ago, you probably would have gotten a confused look from someone if you mentioned the words “bacon jam.” Now there are several companies manufacturing it and it even makes an appearance on discerning restaurant menus around the land.
The Bacon Jams is mixing it up with three different flavors of their bacon spread: The Original, Black Pepper & Honey, and Red Chile & Garlic. Their website features recipes if you aren’t sure what to do with your jam. I chose to taste my samples on bacon flavored Ritz crackers (why not?), but some of their interesting suggestions include Bacon Baked Mac n Cheese with Bacon Jam, Bacon Jam Infused Hummus, and Bacon Jam Roasted Garlic Wings.
