Earlier today, I stumbled across this website for a meat wholesaler in Australia called Gotzinger Smallgoods. One of their products is Bake-On Bacon, for which the target customer is apparently the restaurant industry. Bake-On Bacon comes already layered on a tray and ready to stick in the oven – thus saving time (and labor costs) of layering bacon on baking trays. It’s an interesting concept, although there is no doubt a loss in quality with this approach. But for a restaurant that is serving bacon with a focus on quantity instead of quality, this is a pretty smart idea.
