There is a post on Slashfood today about a new diet aid in the form of a plastic pig that you are supposed to put in your refrigerator to help you keep your new year’s resolution of eating healthier by deterring you from unhealthy snacking. Apparently the glare from the pig is supposed to make you feel guilty about eating that last piece of leftover birthday cake.

But I’m gonna have to disagree and say that having this pig in my refrigerator would only serve the purpose of making me think about pork more often than I already do. I don’t care how angry the pig is – I look at it and all I can think about is crispy bacon, succulent pork tenderloin and juicy ham. So in terms of being pork-friendly, this product gets an A+. In terms of being a weight-loss aid, it gets an F.
