What is more annoying than an overexposed trend? How about people who think it’s trendy to declare a trend dead?
Bacon is the latest target of a small group of aspiring trendspotters.
You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Americans consumed 737 million pounds of bacon in 2006, according to the National Pork Board, equal to $2 billion worth of bacon. Bacon sales rose 20 percent from 2000 to 2005. Fifty-three percent of households report having bacon on hand at all times.
AMERICANS LOVE BACON. PERIOD.
Also, I’m not sure how you describe something that has been around for thousands of years as a passing infatuation.
Bacon isn’t going anywhere, folks.
